GAINESVILLE – While there have been no new reported cases of avian influenza in the Midwest, organizations and farmers are still on high alert. Officials are preparing for the possible return of AI in spring 2016.
In order to remain vigilant, the American Egg Board (AEB), Egg Industry Center (EIC) and the United Egg Producers (UEP) created AboutAvianInfluenza.org. The website − created in 60 days – was built with consumers, media, elected officials and food service in mind. On the website, visitors will be over to read over facts, look for updates regarding AI and other resources.
