Flinders University professor wins Ig Nobel prize

ADELAIDE, Australia — Flinders University chemistry professor Dr. Colin Raston, along with his team, led an experiment that resulted in a major scientific breakthrough.

Raston made headlines after he “unboiled” an egg. The professor was honored with an Ig Nobel prize in 2015.

The Vortex Fluidic Device (VFD) was created by Raston and his team. The device is a compact machine that unravels proteins, which is a revolutionary development that would aid in the treatment of cancer, the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, production of biofuels and food processing.
